Concluding the Journey: Learning Beyond Borders

WMHTI’s International Cruise Familiarization and Learning Program in Shanghai, China and Jeju Island, South Korea proved to be more than just a travel experience—it was a meaningful journey of learning, discovery, and professional growth.

Throughout the seven-day program, participants gained firsthand exposure to international cruise operations onboard Adora Magic City, allowing them to better understand shipboard life, guest service standards, departmental functions, and the realities of working in a global cruise environment. Through lectures, ship tours, observation activities, and cultural immersion, students were able to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry practice.

Beyond the cruise experience, participants explored the rich history, culture, and heritage of Shanghai and Jeju Island. These experiences provided valuable insights into the importance of cultural awareness, adaptability, and global citizenship—qualities that are essential in the maritime and hospitality industries.
